Some Skiffmates volunteer to spend a week providing a little extra support to Skiffmates new and old. They get a few perks, including being able to pick the drinks and nibbles for social events. But most do it for the opportunity to meet more of their fellow Skiffmates.

Some Skiffmates volunteer to spend a week providing a little extra support to Skiffmates new and old. They get a few perks, including being able to pick the drinks and nibbles for social events. But most do it for the opportunity to meet more of their fellow Skiffmates.

It's a small commitment that simply requires them to be at The Skiff for most of the week. They continue to do their own work each day. But they're happy to be interrupted a little more than usual. The Skiff doesn't have any full-time staff so captains, supported by other Skiffmates, keep things running smoothly on a day-to-day basis. They keep an extra eye out for us all and deal with unexpected issues that really need someone in the space to handle them. Find out more about what's involved in being a captain.
